Just sprinkle some roses over it

How is everyone doing with the stay at home rule? I’m still finding that working from home is still lots of fun. What I am finding however is the stress of finding food is really hard. It’s all I worried about for 3 days straight since I couldn’t get any deliveries. The only deliveries were for people who were either self isolating or elderly. Even click and collect were being issued to places I had no chance of getting to. I don’t even drive! However all the stores near by are constantly packed out and lacking items.

Call me a wuss if you like but the last thing I want to do is to go out and join a queue of people not standing far enough away from each other. Touching up everything. Breathing on me. I swear the general thing has made everyone go a little doolally because we actually had a stabbing in the park just over the road. That kind of rattled me just a little. I don’t mind admitting that. I’m not stupid.

All that being said we finally got some food again from the nearby shop which I thought wouldn’t open. I’m really glad it did. Granted they were only allowing three people in at once and it was only one of each item per person, the relief was still immense. It wasn’t so much that I had finished all my food already as much as needing the little top ups that meant you weren’t having to eat plain boiled rice with absolutely nothing else at all. As an example. I hate sausages and I actually miss them right now because the tv had at least two sausage adverts of fat juicy bangers. I’m honestly not being rude, it’s just how I think about them now and I usually hate using that word as much as I hate sausages.

All this because I don’t get to pick what I want to eat anymore. You sort of go to the shop and your meal is determined by what you find on the shelves. I think this is what everyone is probably finding out these days. I could murder a bacon butty I’m not gonna lie. Yet I haven’t managed to find any bacon. Obviously, I’m too slow. All that was left for meat was mince but at least something was left right? Imagine the next person coming in. None for you. It’s all gone. I also refuse to call in help from the parents. I don’t need extra people and things to worry about.

I haven’t had to go to the pharmacy yet, pure luck means I still have a whole month of tablets yet. Imagine having to sort that out. Worse, I had actually completely forgotten about the fact that I would even need medication. Just something else that suddenly exploded in my mind to give me something new to worry about since the food got sorted for another few days. Scary.

Besides these things? I’m literally loving this work from home lark. So much, I still can’t even believe how nice it is. Sure the stress of all else means half my time is hijacked but eh, I’m still rather lucky. I might have had to give into 26 pound noodles off amazon. Those sellers are just…there are no words really. Ripped off and nutritionally denied. I could murder a fresh salad. I even miss being able to just walk into a shop buy whatever junk food item I want and eat it how I want. Now it is considered a frivolous expense and when you do buy them you have to sort of…make it last. Ew. On the bright side, it’s doing wonders for my horrendous snaking habits. I crave and I can’t fulfil the craving as fast as I have them. Silver linings!Things that make things way better to handle? Pink, sunlight and pastels. Lace and florals and soft woollen tops, a sweet virtual life to loose yourself in for two seconds. Should all that fail then simply sprinkle rose petals everywhere.
